Every year the Environmental team and the Fish and Wildlife get together to conduct what is known as prescribed burning. The reasoning behind prescribed burning is that it kills off unwanted species of grass and brush growth that could potentially interfere with maneuver lanes. The prescribed burning also encourages the growth of native prairie grasses that attracts the wildlife population to the area.
The following video is a compilation of photos put together from previous burns that will give you an idea of the process involved in prescribed burning.
